Volunteer Mentors
The Moms and Mentors Program, available on both campuses, facilitates relationships between supportive professional adults and pregnant and parenting teens. Volunteer mentors meet weekly with MHP students in order to encourage academic achievement and job readiness, generate educational and career interests, and increase school attendance and participation. Mentors go through an application process and receive ongoing training and support.
Leadership Conference
The Mentor Committee organizes an annual, one-day Leadership Conference to help students develop career goals and work toward achieving them. Speakers at the conference focus on such topics as creating a personal mission statement, dressing for professional success, developing a positive attitude, and budgeting. Each year, several Margaret Hudson Program alumnae return to share their personal and professional success stories. After the conference, students participate in a Leadership Essay Contest.
