Outreach

For years, the Margaret Hudson Program has served the community as a reliable resource for pregnant and parenting teens and their families. In our efforts to continue to provide our youth with life skills and tools for self-sufficiency, we have expanded our Outreach Department. The Second Step Program is an OJJDP model program and funded through a grant awarded by the Oklahoma State Office of Juvenile Affairs. It is a violence prevention curriculum that focuses on at-risk adolescent boys and girls ages 10-14. This free program will support change in the lives of students by teaching them specific skills that are related to: increasing pro-social behavior, dealing with anger management, problem solving and impulse control.

Academic Services

Students who attend the Margaret Hudson Program receive a balanced curriculum consistent with local and state academic standards. Teachers are employed by the school districts in which the programs are located. There is no loss of credit, and the student's records do not reflect the time spent at Margaret Hudson. Classroom ratios of 1:10 and 1:12 provide more personalized education than students would receive in a regular school environment.
